Building Connections

A few months ago back in Noblesville, Paul, the pastor of our church, introduced us to Ally. Ally was a student at Anderson University, and had started getting involved at our church. Paul thought we would be interested in talking to her because she was from the New Hampshire/Maine area. We had lunch with her one day, and found she was a great connection to have.

Ally father is the associate pastor at a church in Rochester, NH, about 15 minutes from Dover. Her brother is also associated with a church plant in Dover. Last month when Nathan came out to find a living space, he sat down with Allison's dad, Glen, and they had a great talk. Nathan learned through this discussion that their church has a moving ministry, so when Nathan came up with the moving truck last week, Glen and a couple other guys helped to unload it.

This morning we visited Glen's church, Grace Community. They had a great service, with one of the associate pastors giving the message. Part of it had to do with not living a "safe" Christian life, and it was greatly illustrated by this video:

The video very well explains why we are out here, so far from everything that we know. We are not sticking to a "safe" life. We are stepping out of our comfort zones to do what we can for God.

As we work on putting together the pieces that will eventually become Imago Dei, we will be visiting several area churches, continuing to make connections. The couple churches we have talked to so far have been interested in helping in some way, and we look forward to seeing everything come together.
